It is extraordinarily disturbing the poor journalism the LI Herald newspaper provides. As a local business owner it is not the first time the paper has spewed falsities without doing its due diligence. Out of the 6 articles whether online, in print or on TV written about one of our businesses this week; only this publication managed to try and capture an audience by writing what they thought their reader might like to read portraying our employees as possible arsonists and not the facts.
The story the paper reported 12/18/14 quoted by the paper without credit given to any writer "County officials are investigating the cause of a fire at Billy Dean's Showtime Café, and they believe an employee of the strip club may have intentionally set the blaze, according to police." I spoke to lead Detective Peter McGin and we were told the Nassau County Police Department never issued that statement. We employ many college girls and moms that were highly offended by the story. Only this media outlet provided this falsity. We believe this is something the paper wrote in an attempt to damage our excellent reputation in the community. It is truly sad this is what the publication needs to do to sell their product.
Thankfully the individual has been apprehended and is presently being held by the Nassau County Police Department and we are open and operating waiting for you!
